On what I could only assume was the eighth day of being lost in a never-ending forest, storm clouds started brewing. They were dark and fierce and I knew I had to stop following the river and try to build a shelter.
Yes, I had been following the river for eight freaking days with no end in sight. I started feeling like I was just spinning around in circles. There was something weird about this forest – or else it might have been some kind of paranoia creeping in. I could swear that the forest wasn’t letting me leave, though. I’ve been alone for what I think is about a week now and I never thought that I would miss having people around. Not necessarily to talk to, but just so I knew that there was someone there.
I might be an introvert and maybe I’ll never meet that “special someone”, but I always enjoyed being able to look out my apartment window and know that there was still some hope. That maybe, just maybe, there was an introverted girl just like me somewhere out there who wanted to be with me. Continue reading “Dear Diary: Zombie Apocalypse – Entry Six”
I just want the record to show that I was against exploring this desolate wasteland littered with radiation from the bombs that were dropped on it. When it came to a vote, however, I was outnumbered. Even my mom wanted to explore this horrific nightmare which was once a beautiful city (probably…I’ve actually never been here before).
Apparently Jason, his brother Markus, and their parents felt that, if we’re going to be travelling for God knows how long, we should scrounge around and look for supplies that might be useful to us…and might give us cancer, I wanted to add. It’s been a few days, so hopefully I can remember everything.
I had woken up the following morning fairly early. The sun was just starting to peek over the horizon and, if it wasn’t for the fact that I was lying in a motel bed (which was probably disgusting), I wouldn’t have believed that the zombie apocalypse was real.
I looked out the window and could see quite a number of cars along the highway. When I went outside to Jason’s car, I could see that he was already awake. By the look of it, it would appear that he didn’t sleep much, if at all. Continue reading “Dear Diary: Zombie Apocalypse – Entry Four”
I woke up this morning at 6 AM to the sound of gunshots. It was a scary feeling. At first I thought I was being fired at, but then I became more awake and realised that the gunshots were coming from outside. I felt like I was in a bad neighbourhood and there was a gang war going on.
When I went to the window I saw more of those things and police officers doing the best they could to kill them…or re-kill them, I guess.
I closed the blinds, but that didn’t do anything to drown out the noise, so instead I turned on the news and they were finally talking about this again. Continue reading “Dear Diary: Zombie Apocalypse – Entry Three”
I guess I’m not as crazy as I thought. It was, in fact, on the news last night. “Terrifying man Terrorizes Town” the headline read. Turns out he wasn’t as passive as I thought he was.
The helicopter news team showed footage of him charging after people. Seriously, he was running really fast after some random civilians. People were running away, screaming (as would be expected if a white-eyed, broken man was running after them). I don’t know how he was able to run since he still had a busted leg, but then he jumped on top of a person and knocked them to the ground. Continue reading “Dear Diary: Zombie Apocalypse – Entry Two”
Today was a weird day. Everything seemed to be normal until… well, let me start at the beginning.
My name is Nathan Moore. I’m just your average, run-of-the-mill introvert. I live in a small, one-bedroom apartment by myself. I’ve never been much of a social person, I’ve only ever had one friend. His name is Jason Botch. We met in high school. Up until he and I had become friends, I had never really spoken to anyone. I mostly just kept to myself.
